Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her woundsand perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Averys thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man
the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage andhey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

Before you start reading this book you need to fill your stomach.
You CANNOT read this book hungry! ☺☺☺

Now about the story....

Avery has been married to WASPy Boston Royalty for eight years when she finds her husband cheating with his secretary.
Time to get out of the kind of country club life she never wanted in the first place.
She always wanted to use her art history degree and not attend garden club lunches, Junior League meetings and spending time with judgemental rich idiots...like her mother-in-law.

Off she goes - to visit her bestie Daisy in Rome.

On her first night in Italy Daisy is throwing her a Welcome-to-Rome party with all her architect-firm colleagues and friends. Also present: Marcello.
THE Marcello. The guy that got away nine years ago. The guy Avery had a very intense four-month affair with while studying in Barcelona.

We knew from the beginning that we were on borrowed time, but for these four months I was the real me.
He let me fly.

And he was the guy she kind of left without a word to go back home to her soon-to-be-lawyer boyfriend.

She never really got over Marcello. And Marcello is probably still feeling a lot too - going by the hateful glares he's throwing her way. ☺

Perfect time to start her new life.
Rome is bringing back Avery's love for art big time!
Amazing, to-die-for, food, best friends and a beautiful city is exactly what she needs to find the old Avery again.
And her love for Marcello? Is there still something left for her in his heart?
Time to find out.

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO AVERY & MARCELLO???
WILL THERE BE A HEA???
WILL EVERYBODY SURVIVE THIS BOOK???

WiLL THERE BE A CLiFFHANGER???

Nope, not telling you ☺

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

As soon as Avery lands in Rome, we're right there with her.
We smell the air, the garlic, the herbs, the sun, the Vespa exhaust!
I loved it.

This was half romance and half tourist guide for our future visit to Rome. Nina and Alice should be paid by the roman tourist minister. They did such an amazing job describing the city. Ugh, I so want to go there and eat non-stop for a week!

The romance and sexiness part was equally adorable!
I loved that both Avery and Marcello were very interested in getting started with their second chance at something special. Ok, it took Marcello a tiny little while to trust her again....but it was really sweet to watch them fight for their second chance.

Also very adorable and funny was Avery's bestie Daisy. I'm sure her story will be just as amazing!

You just have to read this story - you won't be disappointed for one second. Summer nights in this beautiful city with beautiful food and a second-chance love story .... what's not to love about that?

ROMAN CRAZY was such a beautiful & funny & adorable & colorful love-song about the city of Rome. About second chances at life and love. Run to your nearest amazon to find out if and how Avery will get her Forever-Happily-Ever-After!!!

...and now hurry ladies - I want to read the stories about Avery's besties!!

Oh - and if I had to name some things I didn't like?
Maybe I didn't really feel the deep-love-connection between our two darlings.
They were cute and sexy together, but since we didn't hear ANYTHING private about Marcello, we didn't really connect with him all that much :/ We were just sad for him that Avery left him like that in Barcelona all those years ago.
Also, why is Avery not ONCE asking about Simone in all their courting/dating time?? Asking, talking and telling can save a lot of drama later on! js
But I still loved the story very much! Even though 65% of my love for it come from the ROME part of the story!

ARC received for an honest review

Roman Crazy is a sweet, sexy, adorable second chance romance.

From the minute we learn of the betrayal, I just adored Avery.

And from the minute she walks those cobble stoned roads in Rome, I have true travel-envy.  I could feel the uneven paths, I could smell all the delicious foods, I could hear the noise around her.

And I am sure whilst reading I put on about 5kg just thinking about all that deliciousness.

And then there is Marcello (Marrrrrrrrrcello!)  The one she left behind all those years ago.  I loved that even though there were hurt feelings, that they were willing to give this love thing another go.

I did feel at times though that we didn't learn enough about Marcello - we get to know everything about Avery but he is still pretty much a mystery even when we get to the end, and it made it a bit harder to get that connection with him - but this could just be me!

I freaking LOVE Avery's best friend Daisy, and neeeed more about her - right now.

Alice and Nina should work for the Italian tourism commission, as this book felt like a love letter to Rome - and now I am saving my pennies to get there!

Thank you ladies for this book and the food cravings it has given me!

Stalking the authors:

Alice:

Alice Clayton is a novelist with an unholy love for her KitchenAid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!

After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and national educator for a major cosmetics company, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career, writer. Combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, The Redhead Series.

Alice has penned three novels, The Unidentified Redhead,The Redhead Revealed, and coming soon in November 2012, Wallbanger. She thinks you should purchase them immediately. She’s not kidding, not even a little bit. Everyone needs some comedic erotica in their lives. She is hard at work on the third book in The Redhead Series, set to release in Spring of 2013, continuing the saucy and sexual escapades of everyone’s favorite couple, Jack and Grace.

Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on Not Your Mother's Podcast, make sure you check them out at notyourmotherspodcast.com or over on iTunes. 3 women rushing towards their forties still acting like teenagers. A saucy little mix of sex, love, relationships, pop cultural, celebrity gossip and All Things Jake Ryan.

Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Mary’s, 8 hours of sleep, and a good pounding.

Finally Alice would also like all her readers and listeners to help her convince Mt. Alice that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog. She is totally serious. And done talking about herself in the third person…

Nina:

Nina Bocci is a novelist, publicist, eternal optimist, unabashed lipgloss enthusiast, constant apologist, and a hopeless romanticist. She has too many college degrees that she’s not using, and a Lego addiction that she blames on her son.
